Záhorie gallery of Ján Mudroch in Senica

Záhorie gallery of Ján Mudroch in Senica

The Záhorie gallery was established in 1984 as a regional institution for documenting and presenting visual art linked to the region of Záhorie. The gallery is located in the late Baroque manor house in Senica, built in 1760 according to a project by Viennese architect F. A. Hillebrandt.

The Záhorie gallery does not have a permanent exhibition, but it sporadically organizes a summer exhibition called “The Artists of Záhorie”. Since 1992, the gallery has been organizing the national triennial of the art school students “The Talents”.

As already mentioned, the gallery does not have a permanent exhibition, however it manages the Gallery of Július Koreszka in Skalica founded in 1991 according to the concept by Mgr. B. Juríčková. A permanent exhibition of the artist's work is on show here. It was restored to its present form in 2005 on the occasion of the Skalica Museum's centenary. The Gallery of Koreszka's work in the Záhorie Museum in Skalica consists of a carefully selected collection of 31 landscape oil paintings and 12 drawings with Skalica and Záhorie motifs from the gallery's collections.
